I was initially skeptical and nervous, I “didn’t want to get my hopes too high if it wouldn’t work”. I researched extensively and saw that there was literally nothing to lose, with a considerable likelihood of success. Brett made scheduling so easy and Dr. Rogers would check in with me weekly to be sure I felt confident in the process. My treaters were truly incredible people. They’re open and considerate, accommodating, and personable. In my research about TMS I found it even most successful in those who engaged in conversation- it makes a huge difference in comparison to other TMS care models (but introverts- don't worry you’re welcome to watch tv or listen to music if you prefer). My improvements were very small initially but within the last week I REALLY started to notice how much it was helping me. It was not a “whistling pop out of bed” reduction of depression, I was worried it might be jarring or feel manic- but instead I felt like my mind had “more lights on in the house”. I was able to think more objectively and felt stronger when reinforcing changes in thought patterns and actions in my life. I stood up to my family that I had wanted to for years- and I did so in a calm, self assured, logical way. It made caring about myself make more sense to me. I wouldn’t take it back for any amount of money. It has broadened the belief in possibilities for myself. I made wonderful connections with my care team. You deserve to feel better, and there is nothing to lose. You can make it to the 36 treatments, you’re not so wrong or so bad or so different that you can’t be helped. You’re worth trying for, and the fact you’re reading this lets me know that you know that too. (:
